Structurally Deficient Bridges In New York

There are 1,885 bridges that are designated as Structurally Deficient in New York State. A deficient condition rating indicates deterioration at a level that requires corrective maintenance or rehabilitation to restore the bridge to its fully functional, non-deficient condition. It does not mean that the bridge is unsafe. This map shows them along with the sufficiency rating of the bridge. Red and yellow marked bridges are in the most need of repair, while blue and green have more minor issues.

Automobiles Manufactured Outside of the United States

Yes, Toyota Tundra manufactured in Texas have a vin starting with 5. So they are not considered imports as Texas is still part of the United States. But Toyota Tacomas made in Mexico have a VIN starting with 3 so they would be shown as an import on this map.

US Highway System

You could think that US Highway System is an obsolete with the Interstate System. But especially in the Midwest and the South, a lot of the roads are designated US Highways rather then state highways.

Not that there is much of a difference, many US Highways are two-lanes at-grade and are maintained by state DOTs. In recent decades, funding is not based on US Highway designation but another set of designations on whether or not a road is an arterial highway. California and New York have a notable lack of US Highways.
